GTSN is excited that our submission of a “Notice of Intention” to develop a Grain Industry Code of Practice has been accepted by the NHVR.

A GTSN spokesperson stated that, “GTSN is all about safety along the grain supply chain and our own grain industry code of practice is a huge step towards this industry goal.  We thank the NHVR for working closely with the grain industry as we further develop safe supply chain practices.”

It’s the first stage in the NHVR’s development of a registered industry code practice.

The code would be known as the “Grain Transport Industry Code of Practice“.  The code would address the grain industry specific hazards and risks such as, overloading heavy vehicles and managing non-compliant (overloaded) trucks upon arrival at grain receivals sites.

GTSN see this Industry code assisting grain industry participants comply with their Chain or Responsibility obligations.

NHVR welcomes any feedback or nominations to participate in the development process with emails to codes@nhvr.gov.au
