GTSN Code of Practice

GTSN Code of Practice

GTSN WILL DEVELOP A GRAIN INDUSTRY CODE OF PRACTICE (GTSN CODE) FOLLOWING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TRANSPORT MASTER CODE.

Inaugural signatories include Graincorp, Viterra, Cargill and Emerald Grain.

The GSTN Code will be developed by representatives of the Grain industry to highlight the critical areas of risk identified within the Grain transport and logistics supply chain, including heavy plant.

The GSTN Code will enable all participants to be aware of their responsibilities in the supply chain when they control or influence the safe and legal carriage of grain freight. Not only should this produce a clear and equitable alignment of responsibility for the carriage of goods within the various supply chains against the relevant standards and regulations, but it should also instil higher standards of accountability and good practice within the industry.

The GTSN Code is made up of 3 parts

Part 1

THE CODE OF PRACTICE DOCUMENT IS TO BE SIGNED BY THE SIGNATORY COMPANIES AS THE FORMAL COMMITMENT.

Part 2

A DOCUMENT WHICH SETS OUT THE OPERATIONAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE GUIDELINES.

Part 3

A RESPONSIBILITY MATRIX THAT DETAILS THE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR EACH SPECIFIC ROLE IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN.
